FAQ's

Q: My child is 1 year old, do you think they're old enough for your performances?
A: Our shows are usually designed for ages from 6 months - Kindy; or Kindy - year 4. We also have family shows, eg. at Christmas. Your 1 year old will enjoy listening to the music, playing percussion and watching the other kids!

Q: How long does the performance run?
A: Shows usually run for 45 mins. It takes us between 15 and 45mins to set up, depending on the venue.

Q: How many performers are on stage during a Music Book performance?
A: It depends how many kids will be in the audience, and what you'd like to have. We can provide just a Narrator or can accompany the Narrator with 1-3 musicians. We've also worked with an opera singer, guest narrator and dancers.

Q: Do your performers have 'Working with Children Checks?'
A: All our performers are experienced teachers and hold current 'Working with Children Checks'.

Q: What sort of instruments do you use?
A: Piano, cello and violin. In the future, we are arranging shows to suit flute, guitar, viola and double bass.

Q: Can I meet the performers after the show?
A: Our performers love to meet the audience.

Q: Can I be on a list to find out when the next performances are?
A: You can fill in the form to be on our mailing list, send us an email, and like us on facebook. Go to our contact page for more info. There is no charge to be included on our list.

Q: Do you perform in schools?
A: Yes, we are available for incursions to Early Learning Centres, Kindy or Schools.

Q: Do you have Public Liability Insurance?
A: We have current Public Liability Insurance and can provide a copy of the certificate of currency.

Q: What sort of equipment do I need?
A: Depending on the size of the audience, and the number of performers you are booking, we may need access to electricity, a cordless headset microphone, PA and data projector. If you have a tuned piano available we can use it, or bring a keyboard. We can source the equipment for you if you don't have it, which may incur an additional cost.

Q: What sort of equipment do you bring?

A: Our professional classically-trained musicians bring their own instruments, music stands and music. We also bring an assortment of percussion instruments for audience participation, as well as props and, of course, the books! We also provide the slide show for the projector, and can provide a portable projector screen.

Q: Can I get a list of the books you've used in your performance?
A: Of course! We can email you full details of the books, or you can ask us to show you the books after the performance.

Q: How do I make an enquiry about availability, cost and/or make a booking?
A: You can contact us through our contact page, by emailing musicbookstories@gmail.com, or phoning Peta on 0438 898 822.
